Moving Forward
Where we go from rests entirely in your hands. It is clear that we need to make some changes and tough choices. We must redirect our focus and energies in a positive direction that will cement the Preamble of our City Charter in our hearts and minds forever:
We, the people of the City of Sandusky Ohio, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom to secure its blessings and promote our common welfare, pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Ohio, extending to municipalities the privilege of "home-rule," in order to secure for ourselves and posterity practical and efficient methods in administrating the affairs of the City, to protect the interests and insure the continued general welfare of the community, and to enjoy all the privileges of local self-government, do adopt this Charter.
